As women get older, they may lose fullness in their breasts while others may develop excess skin on their chest. Some women experience both and are left with deflated breasts that sag.

If you would like to increase breast volume while also eliminating excess skin, Dr. Erik Nuveen and Dr. Courtney Caplin can perform a breast augmentation surgery with a lift (mastopexy).

This procedure at Cosmetic Surgery Affiliates in Oklahoma City, OK starts by removing excess skin from the chest and then adding saline or silicone implants to get to your desired breast size. Breast surgery with a lift and augmentation addresses multiple concerns, such as size, position, and shape to give you younger, perkier-looking breasts. Schedule a consultation to talk about your unique concerns and goals so Cosmetic Surgery Affiliates can help you determine if a combination breast augmentation with a lift is the right choice for you.

Breast Augmentation With Lift Surgical Technique

A combination breast surgery is usually done as an outpatient procedure where you will be placed under general anesthesia. In most cases, the lift portion of the surgery is done first. The excess skin is eliminated and the surrounding tissue is tightened. Our surgeons will go over breast implant options with you before the surgery so your implants can look and feel as you expect them to. In certain patients, the nipple and/or areola will need to be repositioned to fit your new breast shape and size.

I love this place. I had breast implants (gummies) and a lift in Feb 2019. I was amazed at how fast I healed and how I barely have scars. I will be 50 in Aug so it's not like "youth" is the answer to my great healing. Dr. Nuveen has been awesome, he gives you his personal # and he DOES answer your questions and concerns. I love this place and highly recommend it.

During/After Breast Augmentation With Lift Surgery

The recovery timeframe for this particular procedure will vary from patient to patient; however, you should feel well enough to return to your day-to-day activities within about seven days. You should refrain from any exercise or strenuous activity for about 2 – 6 weeks. There may also be some inflammation following your surgery that may last for 2 – 3 weeks. Your implants will begin to settle into their final position within a few months when you will be able to enjoy your results.

Implant placement

Incision type, as well as implant placement, are items that are discussed prior to your surgery. During the procedure, an incision is created and then the implant will be slipped into place. There are a couple of methods that may be used for implant placement. These include either submuscular placement (under the pec muscle) or submammary/subglandular placement (over the pec muscle).

Dr. NUVEEN did a fantastic job taking out HUGE breast implants (done by another doctor), lift and put in smaller implants. I couldn’t be happier with the results. He and his staff were sweet and professional. He listened to my needs and produced great results. I wouldn’t ever go anywhere else.

Where our surgeons will place the implants will be based on numerous factors, including the type and degree of implant enlargement. Regardless of the type of incision created, scarring is generally minimal as our surgeons are highly skilled in discreet incision placement.

    Breast Augmentation with Lift FAQs

How much does breast augmentation with a lift cost?

The cost of a breast augmentation with a lift will be determined by multiple factors, including whether you choose implants (silicone or saline) or a fat transfer. Additionally, the complexity of the lift will help determine your cost. In your initial consultation, Dr. Nuveen or Dr. Caplin will develop a personalized surgical plan that includes cost estimates. Cosmetic Surgery Affiliates accepts a number of payment forms, including low-interest medical financing.

Will a breast augmentation with a lift correct sagging?

Breast augmentation with a lift improves the volume of your chest while also addressing sag by removing loose skin. The lift portion of your surgery will also adjust the position of your native breast tissue so your results are firm and perky. This is important since augmenting breasts with even mild sagging can create a less than ideal result if a breast lift isn't done to address the sag. If moderate to severe sagging is present, a lift should be performed and then implants or a fat transfer can be added.

Which incision is best for my surgery?

Incision patterns for breast surgery have become more advanced with certain techniques being used to help reduce the appearance of scarring. The actual incision type that is best for your surgery will depend on the severity of sag and the type of implants being used. To correct moderate to severe sag, an anchor-shaped incision pattern is most effective. When creating your surgical plan, one of our surgeons will explain incision patterns and what is best for your needs. No matter what method is used, we create incisions carefully so your results look natural.

How long will my results last?

If you do not have dramatic weight changes or become pregnant, your results from a breast augmentation with a lift can last many years. Although both saline and silicone implants are made to last for a long time, they do need to be examined regularly to check for issues. During the surgery, your surgeon will place the implants using a method that minimizes future breast sag. This will help your results last longer.
